Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Environment, Science, Technology, or Business or a related field.  Administrative experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a clean energy related field.  Two (2) years of full-time project management experience. Two (2) years of full-time data collection and reporting experience.  Event management experience.  Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Apps.   Proficiency with Excel.  Experience with CRM.  Experience in a start-up/incubator environment.  Experience with coaching and/or mentoring.  Experience with grant writing, reporting and/or submissions.  Experience with expense tracking and reporting.  Experience with Long Island and New York State clean energy and start-up environment.  Familiar utilizing marketing and social media tools i.e. SurveyMonkey, Google Forms.

Brief Description of Duties: 
For the Clean Energy Business Incubator Program (CEBIP), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in assessing company needs and providing solutions and resources to streamline “innovation to market” pathways for clean energy startups in our regional and international programs. The work involves planning and executing tailored solutions to propel CEBIP and its portfolio companies through program-defined milestones. The Program Coordinator will be tasked with: contract and commitment management of CEBIP stakeholders, partners, and resources, collaborating with CEBIP operations to plan and execute portfolio client intake; provide direct CEBIP administrative support to portfolio companies such as reporting, reimbursements, and scheduling; planning and executing professional development and startup support workshops and seminars, and potentially oversight of CEBIP’s marketing and media efforts.

CEBIP seeks to address many key needs of an early-stage, energy-based technology business. This is particularly critical in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. Supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), CEBIP provides access to an unsurpassed team of partners and resources to maximize the prospects for new business ventures, including the Advanced Energy Center (AERTC) where we are located at the Research & Development Park at Stony Brook University. CEBIP will continuously work towards the development of a successful clean energy economy on Long Island, with the ultimate goal of creating new jobs and making a strong economic impact here in New York.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for project management and working with diverse stakeholders to plan and execute multiple independent projects and multi-part complex projects. Data collection, analysis and reporting are essential to this role.  The successful incumbent will have impeccable organization, coordination, and communication skills.  The ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with companies, suppliers, vendors and partners is essential.  The successful candidate will have the strong desire to expand knowledge in climate tech, energy, and technology startups. Very detail oriented, showing accountability and resourcefulness in solving challenges are essential skills.  The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coaching and mentoring companies within a start-up/incubator environment.  Clean energy companies may be located anywhere on the globe working to make an impact on Long Island and in New York state.

  • Track program progress and assess needs via regular engagement with the CEBIP team, companies, partners, and stakeholders
  • Active engagement with CEBIP partners, resources, and stakeholders
  • Drive portfolio company intake management
  • Assess and vet potential portfolio company opportunities and resources
  • Provide administrative support for CEBIP and its companies with regards to CEBIP services
  • Assist in milestone tracking and reporting for NYSERDA and other stakeholders
  • Interface with vendors and consultants for CEBIP website maintenance
  • Lead and execute the quarterly CEBIP Newsletter
  • Develop communication strategies to coordinate CEBIP social media and marketing efforts
  • Manage and execute outreach workshops, seminars, panels, and the like for professional and technical development of companies, users and collaborators associated with CEBIP
  • Assist with concept and design of event plans
  • Create processes to facilitate new collaborations and resource-sharing
  • Assist in grant writing and grant management, metrics analysis and reporting
  • Recruit and supervise interns for various CEBIP needs including but not limited to social media
  • Other duties as assigned are required to successfully plan and execute CEBIP programs.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
