Alter Domus acquires US fund services provider

The Luxembourg-based company has acquired a number of US businesses over the last year Fund administrator Alter Domus has acquired a US-based fund services provider, the Luxembourg company said on Monday. The Luxembourg firm acquired Investors Economic Assurance, which was founded in 2000 in New York, and provides accounting, administrative and advisory services to people working in investment management. Alter Domus, which was founded 15 years ago and employs around 800 people in Luxembourg, has made a number of acquisitions in the US over the last year, in a bid to expand its business further across the Atlantic. The company said at the start of this year that it would acquire sector peer Strata Fund Solutions LLC and in December last year, the company acquired IPS Fund Services LLC, a Boston-based fund administrator. Enabled by satellite, SATMED is designed to connect doctors and nurses based in remote locations to the outside medical world, providing access to the platform’s cloud applications for e-training, virtual consultations, management and storage of medical data records, and video conferencing. SES to Establish $17m Tech & Operations Hub in Virginia

SES confirmed on social media that it was expanding to Prince William County in Virginia, where it plans to set up a U.S. technology and operations hub. The company aims to create 200 new jobs over the next five years as part of this expansion. Viriginia competed with Maryland and Washington, D.C. for the project. SES will thus consolidate its satellite and network operations at the hub, which is to be located at 8050 Piney Branch Lane in Bristow, Prince William County, Virginia. Accelerating economic impact The health technologies incubator will contribute to accelerating the economic impact of investments made to develop public research in biomedicine in Luxembourg. Spire to list in New York after new investors come in

by Kathryn OGLESBY  The sale could come through by summer this year Luxembourg-based space firm Spire Global is planning to list on the New York Stock Exchange by the summer of this year, announcing this week that two groups of investors will buy new shares in the company. Stockholders in Spire Global would own 67% of the shares in the listed company, which is estimated to be worth $1.6 billion.  The new capital would come from defense and government technology investment fund NavSight, based in Virginia in the United States, which would merge with Spire Global, the company said. The newly formed company would also receive a €245 investment from US hedge fund Tiger Global Management and from funds managed by BlackRock, Hedosophia, the JAWS family office and Bloomtree Partners.
