Luxembourg and Poland have agreed to cooperate on space-resources activities for the next five years, according to a statement by the Economy Ministry.
Last Friday, deputy prime minister and economy minister Étienne Schneider signed a memorandum of understanding with Poland's minister for entrepreneurship and technology, Jadwiga Emilewicz, to start bilateral discussions on the exploration and utilisation of space resources.
Under the new deal, the two countries will be able to exchange views and expertise on space technologies, policy, law and regulation.
They have also committed to promoting international dialogue at the United Nations level to increase clarity on the legal and regulatory framework available for space-resources exploration.
This is the second partnership forged by Luxembourg on space resources after the Grand Duchy signed a similar agreement with the Czech Republic last week.
To date, Luxembourg has sealed collaboration deals in the area of space with several countries, including Russia, Portugal, China and the United Arab Emirates.
